14% Of Russian-Speaking Employers Plan To Hire More Workers In The Next 12 Months.

New York, NY September 18, 2004 -- Press Release Group survey of 100 Russian-speaking employers showed that 12% of the employers indent to hire more workers in the next twelve months. Employment picture on the Russian-language market in the US has been steadily improving in the last year.

Ross Lavnikevich, president of RussianSoft.com, a Brooklyn-based web design company targeting Russian-language businesses, says: “We definitely see improvement in business activity in the Russian market. This summer has been very busy and productive for us, even though usually summer is a slow period for a business-to-business company like ours. And we see that more and more Russian-language businesses use internet.”

Ilya Merenzon, director of research for Press Release Group, says that the research Press Release Group is conducting is the first consistent attempt to measure employment situation within the Russian-speaking community. “There are of course official indicators of unemployment among Russian-born Americans calculated by US Census, but they are not fully descriptive because they do not reflect employment picture within the Russian-speaking community, that is with Russian-American businesses, targeting Russian-speakers” The survey results demonstrate that the local Russian-American business is expanding with higher rate than that in the general US market. The survey findings are consistent with the trend of expansion of ethnic businesses.

The Employers’ Survey is planned to become a monthly study of employment trends in the Russian-speaking community in the US and to become an official leading indicator of employment in the Russian community in the US.
